Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, deployment, and optimization of the company's network infrastructure. The role combines on-site collaboration with remote flexibility to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

You will implement security measures, monitor performance, and collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects, staying current with industry best practices and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs).
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN/VPNs, wireless).
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain uptime.
• Implement and maintain network security measures and access controls.
• Develop and enforce network policies and procedures for security and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support deployments and infrastructure projects.
• Stay current with network technologies and industry best practices.
