Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Nanny and Childcare Coordinator in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee daily care, education, and development for young children, ensuring safety, nutrition, and engaging learning activities within the family home.

Strong organizational skills and experience with infants/toddlers are essential. The role requires First Aid/CPR certification, excellent communication with parents, and discretion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider with infants/toddlers.
• First Aid and CPR certification are mandatory.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging daily schedules for children aged 0-6, including education, play, and rest.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks per dietary guidelines.
• Supervise children at all times ensuring safety at home and during outings.
• Manage children's appointments (medical, dental, extracurricular).
• Coordinate with external tutors or educators to support learning and development.
• Maintain a clean, organized play area and children's spaces; handle laundry as needed.
• Document progress and milestones for parental review.
• Act as main contact for childcare matters with parents.
• Supervise other domestic staff related to childcare if needed.
• Instill good behavior, manners, and social skills.
