Job summary

Amidel is seeking an experienced Murex Application Developer in Johannesburg to design, develop, test, and implement Murex solutions for diverse clients. The role requires 5+ years with Murex, strong scripting (bsh, ksh), and MXML exchanges, data migrations, and system integrations, under a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

You will collaborate across teams, contribute to upstream/downstream integrations, and participate in SIT/UAT, cloud readiness, and continuous improvement to deliver reliable,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Murex experience in configuring, customizing and integrating the platform.
• Strong knowledge of Murex workflows, integration points, and data management best practices.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++ and scripting with Bash/Korn Shell.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and refactoring of Murex workflows and integration points.
• Drive the development and housekeeping of Datamarts, extractions, and scripts.
• Spearhead migration of trades, market data and reference data for seamless transitions.
• Improve interface between Murex and external data repositories for settlements.
• Integrate Murex with third‑party confirmation and settlement systems.
• Build up/downstream integrations and convert existing points for version changes.
• Develop MxML workflows and exchanges; use scripting for automation.
• Support and collaborate with teams to resolve environment issues and prepare for cloud deployment.
• Perform SIT/UAT testing and participate in formal release cycles.
• Contribute to overall solutions aligned with project goals.
