Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior MLOps Engineer to join our client’s team in Sandton, Gauteng. You will build, deploy, and manage scalable ML systems, bridging ML development and operations, and ensuring production reliability in a hybrid work setup.

Key responsibilities include designing robust CI/CD pipelines, managing training and deployment infrastructure, automating retraining and deployment, and monitoring model performance and data drift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in DevOps or MLOps, focusing on ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of ML principles and ML lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Eligible to work in South Africa; relocation to Sandton, Gauteng if needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
• Develop and manage infrastructure for training, deployment, and monitoring in production.
• Automate model retraining, versioning, and deployment processes.
• Implement monitoring for model performance, data drift, and system health.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers for seamless integration.
• Manage cloud-based ML infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Apply MLOps best practices including testing and reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot production issues in ML systems.
• Develop tools to streamline the ML lifecycle.
• Stay updated on emerging MLOps tools and practices.
