Placements24 is seeking an AI Platform Engineer specializing in MLOps to join our Stellenbosch tech hub. You will design and operate end-to-end ML lifecycles, architect scalable MLOps infra, and enable data scientists to deploy models rapidly with reliable monitoring and governance.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and robust observability, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive AI innovation while ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE with ML platforms/MLOps focus.
• Strong understanding of ML lifecycle and workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML services.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging, plus strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable MLOps infra and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement tools for model training, versioning, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Collaborate with data scientists to understand needs and provide platform solutions.
• Automate ML workflows and operational tasks to improve efficiency.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of the AI platform.
• Develop IaC for ML environments and monitor system health.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure platform stability.
• Stay up-to-date with latest MLOps tools and practices.
• Document platform architecture, processes, and best practices.
• Contribute to AI strategy and technology roadmap.
