Job summary

Srg Recruitment (Pty) Ltd in Durban is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to design and deploy scalable ML systems in production. You will own the full ML lifecycle, from data ingestion and feature engineering to model monitoring and maintenance.

Collaborate with AI engineers and data teams to turn business use cases into production-grade solutions; mentor junior engineers and improve model quality.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of ML algorithms, model selection, evaluation.
• Production-ready code and software engineering practices.
• Hands-on MLOps: pipelines, experiment tracking, versioning, deployment.
• Experience building, deploying and operating ML systems at scale.
• Observability: monitoring, alerting, data quality in production.
• Strong foundations in statistics, mathematics and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ML models and pipelines with real business impact.
• Own the ML lifecycle from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
• Build and maintain MLOps infrastructure for reliable model delivery.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and data teams to productionize business use cases.
• Build observability tooling to monitor model performance and data quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and help them grow in the team.
• Continuously improve model quality, efficiency, and scalability across products.
