Job summary

Datonomy Solutions (Pty) Ltd in Sandton is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, deploy and support enterprise-scale ML/AI solutions, focused on productionisation and GenAI in Databricks, AKS, Docker and MLOps environments.

The role collaborates with Data Scientists, Cloud Engineers and Platform Teams to move AI use cases from prototype to production, ensuring scalable, observable and cost-efficient deployments.

Qualifications

• Production-grade ML/AI experience in enterprise environments.
• MLOps/DevOps practices within AI/ML contexts.
• Strong Python development, SQL and API skills.
• Hands-on with Databricks, MLflow and Model Serving.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and containerised deployments.
• Azure AKS deployment and cloud platforms experience.
• CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and monitoring.
• Knowledge of Spark or distributed data processing.
• Understanding of LLMs, RAG, Generative AI and AI agents.
• Producing production-ready solutions from development to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and support production-grade ML/AI solutions.
• Productionise ML models and DS pipelines with Databricks.
• Develop Generative AI apps, AI agents and RAG solutions.
• Create reusable ML pipelines using MLOps principles.
• Implement CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and governance.
• Deploy ML workloads on AKS and Azure cloud.
• Develop REST APIs and microservices for AI/ML capabilities.
• Build scalable containerised solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Maintain Databricks workloads: Workflows, MLflow, Model Serving.
• Monitor performance, drift and reliability; troubleshoot issues.
