Job summary

cquail is seeking an Engineering Foreman to lead day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities across mining and drilling environments, ensuring equipment availability and safe execution of work.

The role requires frontline leadership, hands-on judgement and strong knowledge of heavy mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and drilling systems, coordinating artisans and technicians to minimise downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering/maintenance experience in mining or drilling.
• Experience supervising artisans/maintenance teams.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical and hydraulic systems; electrical exposure advantageous.
• Willingness to work on operational project sites (shifts/overtime).

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering and maintenance teams across mining and drilling equipment.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for maximum availability.
• Lead breakdown response and technical troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems.
• Ensure maintenance work is planned, prioritised, and closed out.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
• Coach team members on safe work practices and risk controls.
