Job summary

Career Circuit (Pty) Ltd recruits an experienced Senior Mining Engineering Consultant to deliver technical engineering solutions for mining clients. The successful candidate will lead and manage projects, perform technical assessments and feasibility studies, and optimise equipment performance across mining operations.

The role requires hands-on design, reliability initiatives, safety compliance and strong client engagement to drive project success and industry standards adherence.

Qualifications

• BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 515 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of consulting experience is preferable.
• Experience across project development and operational phases.
• Strong technical, communication, project management and client relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness, initiative, problem solving and results driven.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical engineering design, assessments and technical studies.
• Evaluate equipment condition, asset registers and remaining asset life.
• Work on mine infrastructure, including shafts, hoisting systems, conveyors, pumping, dewatering and ventilation.
• Select and specify mechanical equipment and prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
• Conduct technical audits, due diligence and trade-off studies.
• Support maintenance planning, equipment reliability, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with relevant mining safety regulations and engineering standards.
• Manage projects, prepare technical reports and Competent Persons Reports (CPRs).
• Develop client relationships and mentor junior team members.
