Placements24 seeks a Processing Plant Superintendent near Vereeniging, Gauteng, to lead mineral processing operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and quality. You will manage a team of operators and technicians, drive reliability, and optimize circuits like flotation and grinding, while controlling budget and ensuring environmental compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and at least 7 years in mineral processing with 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical/chemical/mining engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in mineral processing plant operations with 3+ years in supervision.
• Proven track record with complex processing circuits (flotation, leaching, smelting).
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mineral processing plant operations including crushing, grinding, flotation and refining.
• Ensure safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Achieve production targets for throughput, recovery and quality.
• Develop and implement procedures to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Manage maintenance and reliability of plant equipment with maintenance dept.
• Lead and develop operators, technicians and supervisors.
• Monitor process parameters and troubleshoot issues.
• Foster a strong safety culture at the Vereeniging site.
