Job summary

Tharisa Plc is seeking an experienced Metallurgical Engineer to lead production operations, optimise throughput, and drive continuous improvement across the plant. You will manage labour, equipment, and services, while ensuring safety, cost controls and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 10 years in metallurgical engineering with at least 5 years in plant management, and hands-on experience with MS Dynamics F&O and Power BI for reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy (NQF7).
• 10 years’ experience as a metallurgical engineer/metallurgist, with at least 5 years managing processing plants.
• Experience/Exposure on MS Dynamics F&O and Reporting tools (MS Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage operational plans to align with business strategy and budgets.
• Lead production planning and throughput while coordinating maintenance and process parameters for continuous productivity.
• Monitor safety, risk and compliance, including MHSA requirements, and drive incident prevention.
• Analyse plant data, generate management reports and provide insights for continuous improvement.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with internal teams, unions, suppliers and the community to ensure timely delivery and safe operations.
