Placements24 seeks a Senior Metallurgical Engineer to optimize processing, boost metal recovery and reduce costs at a Sandton facility. The role blends on-site plant work with remote data analysis, demanding deep metallurgical expertise and strong problem-solving abilities.

The candidate will analyze plant data, design pilot trials, implement process changes, and prepare management reports. A master’s or PhD in metallurgy or related field is required, with 7+ years of experience.

Competenze

• Master's degree or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in metallurgical processing with focus on optimization and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing unit operations such as comminution, flotation, leaching and solid-liquid separation.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to process improvement.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments.

Mansioni

• Analyze metallurgical plant performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Design, conduct and interpret laboratory and pilot plant tests to validate improvements.
