Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a mining environment, preferably in open cast chrome operations.
Strong knowledge of plant maintenance, mining equipment, and safety regulations.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities across the mine and processing plants.
Ensure optimal performance, availability and reliability of all mechanical equipment.
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
Manage breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime through effective troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental legislation.
Lead and mentor maintenance teams, including artisans and foremen.
Manage budgets, costs, and procurement of mechanical spares and services.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Liaise with production teams to ensure alignment between maintenance and operational targets.
Compile and present technical reports and maintenance performance metrics.
