Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a mining environment, preferably in open cast chrome operations.
• Strong knowledge of plant maintenance, mining equipment, and safety regulations.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities across the mine and processing plants.
• Ensure optimal performance, availability and reliability of all mechanical equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Manage breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime through effective troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental legislation.
• Lead and mentor maintenance teams, including artisans and foremen.
• Manage budgets, costs, and procurement of mechanical spares and services.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Liaise with production teams to ensure alignment between maintenance and operational targets.
• Compile and present technical reports and maintenance performance metrics.
