Placements24 seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Port Elizabeth product development team. You will lead the design and development of mechanical components for new products, creating 3D models and drawings, and validating designs through FEA and testing.

The role requires a strong portfolio, 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, and proficiency in CAD tools and materials science concepts to drive innovative product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design with portfolio of product development.
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools; understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical components and systems for new product introductions.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Perform engineering analysis including FEA and tolerance studies to validate designs.
• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to assess performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product launch.
• Research new technologies and materials to enhance product innovation.
