Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will lead the design of complex industrial machinery, using CAD tools for modeling, analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 7 years in mechanical design of industrial machinery or complex systems.
• Strong CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Inventor; ability to perform simulations and analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of new machinery from concept to production.
• Use CAD tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and BOMs.
• Perform stress and thermal analyses to validate designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on industrial machinery or complex systems.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and kinematics.
• Proven experience in designing mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms.
