Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in designing industrial machinery or heavy equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of gears, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and material selection.
• Experience with stress analysis and basic simulation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing-focused environment in Mossel Bay.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for industrial machinery using CAD software.
• Perform calculations for stress, load, and power requirements for machine elements.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are feasible and efficiently produced.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues encountered during production and implement design solutions.
• Conduct performance testing and validation of new and modified machinery designs.
