Job summary

Network Recruitment in Gauteng is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of specialized equipment, from concept through prototyping, testing and production.

You will mentor junior engineers, solve complex mechanical and hydraulic challenges, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to long-term technical strategy that drives innovation and commercial impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years post-graduate mechanical design experience.
• Proven experience designing heavy industrial, mining, hydraulic, fluid power, mobile equipment or capital equipment systems.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD design software.
• Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and engineering principles.
• Ability to balance innovation with practical, commercially viable design solutions.
• A demonstrated track record of solving complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of specialized equipment and engineered solutions.
