Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mathematics Educator in Cape Town to inspire students and guide junior teachers within the mathematics department. You will deliver engaging high school mathematics instruction, shape curriculum development, and promote a supportive learning environment.

The role requires a PGCE or equivalent, a Bachelor’s in Mathematics, and at least seven years of high school teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of high school mathematics teaching experience.
• Proven leadership experience or potential within an educational institution.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons per curriculum for high school levels.
• Assess, record, and report student progress with constructive feedback.
• Develop innovative teaching methods and resources for diverse learning styles.
• Lead and mentor a team of mathematics teachers on pedagogy and curriculum implementation.
• Contribute to development and review of mathematics curriculum and assessments.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
