Job summary

Transnet Pipelines seeks a Master Installation Electrician in Ladysmith to oversee electrical installation, testing, and maintenance for safe and reliable pipeline operations. The role requires registration as a Master Installation Electrician and extensive on-the-job experience across depot and substation environments.

The incumbent will manage COC issuance, perform high voltage work, and lead preventative maintenance, defect repair, and safety inspections in coordination with OPS & TEC, M&W,

Qualifications

• Trade qualification with practical on-the-job experience in Transnet Pipelines.
• NOSA safety, first aid and high voltage safety training completed.
• Strong knowledge of testing instruments and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Manage COC’s (Certificate of Compliance) per National Codes and OSH Act.
• Guide Electrical Installation and ensure safe working conditions.
• Ensure correct application of electrical equipment in Plant/operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and report defects to ensure reliable operation.
• Identify, diagnose and repair defects on live equipment with diagnostic testing.
• Oversee live equipment removal, replacement and energising operations.
• Coordinate refurbishment, modifications and testing to manufacturer specs.
• Handle high voltage switching, permits and safe operation.
