Placements24 is seeking a Senior Marine Insurance Specialist to remotely serve clients across Polokwane, Limpopo and beyond. You will underwrite cargo, hull and P&I, assess risks, price policies, and foster broker and client relationships in the maritime and logistics sectors.

You will develop and manage a marine portfolio, stay informed on international regulations, and collaborate with claims to ensure efficient handling of marine cases.

Qualifications

• Strong negotiation and client-relations skills.
• Clear communication with brokers and clients.
• Solid analytical and financial analysis capabilities.
• Ability to assess risk and set premium terms.
• Experience in marine cargo, hull, P&I and liabilities.
• Remote work capability with strong time management.
• Understanding of international maritime practices.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite diverse marine risks: cargo, hull, machinery, P&I.
• Assess risk exposures, analyze data, set premiums and terms.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, shipowners, charterers, logistics firms.
• Provide expert advice and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio performance to ensure profitability and alignment with strategy.
• Stay updated on maritime regulations and market trends.
• Collaborate with claims to ensure efficient handling of marine claims.
• Contribute to development of marine products and market strategies.
• Ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
• Seek growth opportunities within Limpopo regional trade interests.
