Job summary

Gauteng Growth and Development Agency is seeking a Senior Manager Legal Advisory to provide strategic legal guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage legal risks across the organization. The role leads the legal department, collaborates with executive leadership, and supports governance with robust policy development and stakeholder engagement.

The position requires a postgraduate law qualification, admission as an attorney or advocate, and 5–7 years of relevant legal advisory

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Degree or equivalent in Law
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate
• 5–7 years’ experience in a legal advisory role

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with company goals.
• Provide leadership to the legal team and foster excellence and collaboration.
• Manage the Department in line with policies and delegated authority; ensure resource availability.
• Provide regular reports to EXCO on Department operations and risks.
• Oversee legal disputes, engage external counsel when needed, and draft/ review contracts and legal documents.
• Advise on contractual matters and risk mitigation; align policies with legal requirements and best practices.
• Identify strategic stakeholders and develop partnerships; promote the company's corporate image.

Education

Postgraduate Degree or NQF level 8 qualification in Law/Legal Qualification
