Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a senior Mainframe Developer in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will translate business requirements into technical specifications, design and code mainframe solutions, and support production in a 24x7 on-call environment.

The role requires at least 5 years of COBOL, JCL and DB2 experience, with familiarity in REMEDY, JIRA, Confluence and ISPW. Agile practices and DevOps tooling are part of the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years broad experience translating business requirements into technical specs and developing code.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor programs/scripts.
• Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
• To monitor and report on own progress and proactively identify issues related to software development activities.
• To propose practical solutions to resolve issues.
