Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly creative Lead Visual Merchandiser for a flagship store in Sandton, Gauteng. You will define and execute the brand’s visual identity, creating captivating displays that drive engagement and sales.

You will lead a small team, translate brand strategies into compelling presentations, and manage budgets and timelines in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in visual merchandising, with a significant focus on luxury retail.
• Demonstrable portfolio showcasing creative and impactful visual merchandising projects.
• Strong understanding of design principles, color theory and spatial arrangement.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in design software and 3D visualization is a plus.
• Experience in Sandton retail landscape is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative visual merchandising strategies aligned with brand guidelines and seasonal campaigns.
• Create and execute in-store displays, window presentations, and product layouts to maximize visual appeal and sales impact.
• Collaborate with marketing, buying, and store management to ensure cohesive brand messaging.
• Manage execution of VM plans within budget and timeline constraints.
• Train and mentor junior visual merchandisers and store staff on visual standards and execution.
• Monitor product performance and customer flow to optimize layout and display effectiveness.
• Stay abreast of latest VM trends and luxury market developments.
• Source and manage props, fixtures and materials for displays.
• Ensure all VM elements are maintained to high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess presentation and provide feedback.
