Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a prominent national distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics & Distribution Manager to lead their operations in Randburg, Gauteng region. This strategic role involves overseeing all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse management, fleet operations, and distribution network optimization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale logistics operations, a strong understanding of cost management, and a proven ability to drive efficiency and service excellence. You will be responsible for leading a diverse team and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the company's supply chain performance within Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics and distribution operations.
• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and dispatch.
• Manage and optimize transportation and fleet operations to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics and warehouse professionals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, with a significant portion in FMCG or similar fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex distribution networks and large teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems.
• Proven ability in budget management and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
• Experience in the Randburg, Gauteng area or surrounding regions is advantageous.
