Placements24 has partnered with a leading national distributor to appoint a Logistics & Distribution Manager for Upington, Northern Cape. This senior role oversees warehousing, inventory, transportation, fleet, and budget management, driving strategy across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in logistics, with at least 5 in a senior role, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; a Master's is highly desirable.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale warehouse operations, transportation, and fleet management.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful logistics strategies that drive cost savings and efficiency.
• In-depth knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ERP systems.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and demanding operational environment.
• Experience managing operations in the Upington, Northern Cape region or similar is a significant plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute comprehensive logistics and distribution strategies to support business objectives and drive growth.
• Oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and stock accuracy.
• Manage all transportation activities, including fleet operations, carrier negotiations, route optimization, and compliance.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
• Implement and enforce stringent health and safety policies and procedures across all logistics operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals and operational staff.
• Utilize data analytics and KPIs to monitor performance, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international logistics regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of supply chain operations.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other external partners.
• Drive innovation and adopt new technologies to enhance logistics efficiency and service levels.

Formação
