The City of Attleboro Public Library is seeking a qualified Senior Library Technician to support technical services, cataloging, and materials processing. Under the direction of the Technical Services Supervisor, you will manage holding records, processing, and repairs for books and media.

You will also train volunteers, oversee mending, and assist with acquisitions and storage. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can work independently and handle physical materials.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent with three years library experience.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle physical materials.
• Experience with library catalog records, processing, and maintenance.
• Ability to train volunteers and senior aides in technical services.

Aufgaben

• Create and update holding records in the library catalog system for non-print and media materials.
• Train volunteers and senior aides in various aspects of technical services support.
• Oversee the mending and repair of library materials.
• Assist with withdrawal and disposal of damaged and obsolete materials.
• Coordinate with library departments to purchase and distribute library and office supplies.
• Maintain supply storage areas and the technology closet.
• Prepare cost estimates for the library’s participation in the state library supply bid program.
• Assist with in-house preservation, archival, and art-related projects.
• Perform other related duties as required.
