Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm, ALSP or in-house legal operations team.
• Law degree is essential.
• Admission as an attorney is an added advantage.
• Experience in document review, DSARs, contract lifecycle or IP management.
• Experience using HighQ, Relativity, Kira or similar legal tech.
• Experience in a project-driven environment.
• Experience developing playbooks and delivery frameworks.
• Engaging with clients and senior stakeholders on matters.
• Accuracy, organisation and flexibility.
• Attention to detail under tight timelines.
• Ability to review and interpret data in Excel.
• Strong critical reasoning and excellent communication.

TLT’s Managed Legal Services (‘MLS’) team is a centre of excellence for the delivery of high-volume projects and managed services including document and contract review, contract lifecycle management and legal administration to TLT clients. We have set up a delivery centre in Cape Town to help our MLS team respond to the growing need for these project services. We anticipate that this centre will grow exponentially over the next 5 years.

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Legal Analyst to join our core MLS team in Cape Town.This role reports into the Legal and Operational Lead.Senior Legal Analysts in this team support and deliver our growing portfolio of legal projects on behalf of all 5 of the firm’s practice groups.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Legal Analyst or Legal Analyst in the Managed Service Legal space, you will lead and support various workstreams,includingthe following tasks:

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of complex legal issues to support review strategy, decision-making and delivery approach across document and contract review projects.
• Use e-disclosure platforms, contract review tools and legal systems to define, apply and oversee relevance, redaction and review approaches, ensuring consistent and defensible outcomes.
• Leverage AI contract review tools and individual legal skills to identify and report on key contract terms and themes.
• Use case management systems to deliver and progress tasks as part of a larger legal process.
• Take and interpret detailed client instructions and translate them into clear execution guidance, providing structured progress updates.
• Apply, support the drafting of and contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of playbooks, guidance notes and project materials.
• Attend meetings and contributing to discussions to enhance and maintain the quality, consistency, and value of the team’s work, and continuous improvement discussions.
• Provide guidance and support (including quality assurance review) to more junior resources.
• Support workstream and process development activities.
• Support the planning and set-up of large projects including assisting with the training and mobilisation of project teams.
• Meet agreed delivery targets and time recording requirements.

What You Bring

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm, ALSP or in-house legal operations team.

• Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following:
  • Managed document review and disclosure
  • DSARs
  • Claims and case management
  • Contract review and contract lifecycle management
  • IP portfolio management
• Previous experience using HighQ, Relativity, Kira or other legal technology.
• Experience working in a project environment.
• Experience contributing to or developing playbooks, review guidance or delivery frameworks.
• Demonstrable experience engaging with clients or senior stakeholders on active matters.
• Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timescales.
• Ability to review and interpret a dataset in Excel.
• Exceptional critical reasoning skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• MS Office proficient.
