Job summary

Nelson Mandela University seeks an enthusiastic academic to lead the design, development and delivery of scalable digital literacy and digital capability programmes across the University. Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering technology-enabled teaching at scale.
• Proven engagement with digital literacy, digital education, or technology-enhanced learning.
• Sustained record of peer-reviewed research output or potential to develop a research profile.
• Curriculum design and development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously refine scalable digital literacy curricula including AI literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and digital citizenship.
• Develop technology-enabled teaching, assessment and admin processes for very large cohorts; integrate systems to improve efficiency.
• Oversee delivery and quality of digital literacy and higher certificate programmes; coordinate teaching teams and drive data-informed improvements.
• Publish research in digital education; supervise postgraduate students where appropriate; contribute to community engagement.
• Collaborate across faculties to embed digital capability within diverse disciplinary contexts.
• Participate in projects targeted at community service and engagement.
