Job summary

Stadio Higher Education invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law. The role centers on delivering lectures with emphasis on Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and Mercantile Law, while handling assessment, moderation and academic administration.

The successful candidate will contribute to research activities, mark examinations and assignments, and actively use the LMS to support learning. A SA LLD/PhD or near completion and proven teaching experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a South African LLD/PhD (Law) or close to completion.
• Expertise in Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law.
• Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
• Good knowledge of LMS such as Canvas and legal databases Sabinet, JutaStat, LexisNexis.

Responsibilities

• Lecturing with focus on Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law.
• Assessment and moderation of student work.
• Academic administration and other delegated duties.
• Engaging in research activities.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• Lecturing (with specific focus on Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law).
• Assessment and moderation.
• Academic administration and other delegated duties.
• Research.
• Marking assignments and exam papers.
• Using the Learning Management System (LMS).

Minimum requirement

• At least enrolled in a South African LLD/ PhD (Law) degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field). Preferable that the candidate has completed the degree or is close to completing the degree.
• Expertise in the relevant field: Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law).
• Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
• Good knowledge of an LMS, such as Canvas, as an online learning management system / tool.
• Good knowledge of legal databases such as Sabinet, JutaStat and LexisNexis.
• A basic research track record.

Qualification

• A minimum of a South African LLD / PhD Law degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field)
