Job summary

Datonomy Solutions (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Java Software Developer to join a high-performing technology team in a complex, enterprise environment. You will be a hands-on engineer responsible for end-to-end delivery from design through deployment and maintenance.

The role requires strong Java development skills, practical knowledge of microservices, APIs, cloud technologies and DevOps practices, and the ability to work across multi-tier architectures in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' software development experience.
• Strong Java development background and OOP design.
• Experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
• Proficient in Spring Framework / Spring Boot and Micronaut.
• Cloud, Azure and DevOps practices experience.
• Database experience: SQL, NoSQL (Cassandra/MongoDB).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications and services.
• Take end-to-end ownership of development deliverables.
• Develop solutions aligned with coding, architecture and design standards.
• Perform unit testing and support QA activities.
• Participate in code reviews and code-quality processes.
• Design APIs, microservices and system integrations.
• Support deployments and automated release processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Monitor and optimise performance in high-volume environments.
• Participate in standby and production support.
• Work with Product Owners and SMEs.
• Produce/deliver detailed technical designs.
