Job summary

Centurion, South Africa-based Sabenza IT & Recruitment seeks a senior Java engineer to design and ship Spring-based services, shape Angular UIs, and work across greenfield and production systems. You’ll leverage modern AWS patterns while maintaining legacy integrations (IBM MQ).

Expect variety across many applications that must communicate with each other. You’ll need 10+ years of software experience, a related IT degree, and strong OO design with Agile delivery, plus hands-on work with

Qualifications

10+ years of software experience.
2–4 years in financial services or related domain.
Strong OO design and Agile delivery.
Hands-on with Oracle / PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Familiar with REST/SOAP integrations and messaging.

Responsibilities

Design and build Java/Spring Boot services with security and data access.
Develop front-end work with Angular + Material.
Implement REST/SOAP integrations and messaging (JMS, IBM MQ, AWS SQS).
Deploy to AWS and implement observability (DataDog, Micrometer, Prometheus).
Write meaningful tests with JUnit, Mockito; contribute to BDD tests (Cucumber/Karate).
Model domain objects with JPA; support non-prod and prod environments.
