Job summary

DeARX is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 12-month contract in Sandton. You will work on enterprise-scale, high-volume applications across the full SDLC, delivering robust Java-based solutions.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, cloud and DevOps. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, performance optimisation and production support in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

5+ years' professional software development experience.
Strong Java experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
Solid JPA/Hibernate experience; Micronaut is a plus.
Experience building Microservices and API integrations.
CI/CD, DevOps mindset with secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy and support high-quality Java applications.
Build and enhance scalable Spring Boot, Spring, JPA/Hibernate solutions.
Work within Microservices and SOA architectures and develop APIs.
Take ownership from design through production support.
Develop secure integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML.
Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps pipelines; automate deployments.
Perform unit tests, code reviews, troubleshooting and optimisation.
Collaborate with cloud/containers including Azure/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
