Network Contracting is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 12-month contract within the Insurance and Financial Services sector. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications, collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of enterprise Java experience, exposure to Java EE, JBoss, and SDLC/Agile environments, and a track record of delivering scalable software in fast-paced settings.

Qualifications

• Matric and IT-related degree or diploma required.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with enterprise Java applications and SDLC/Agile environments.
• Financial services or insurance domain exposure is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java applications in line with business and technical requirements.
• Participate in technical analysis, solution design, effort estimation, and project planning activities.
• Conduct unit testing, peer code reviews, and support quality assurance processes to ensure delivery of high-quality code.
• Provide production support, perform root cause analysis, and resolve system issues effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education:

• Matric (Grade 12).
• IT-related Degree or Diploma (BSc, BTech, or equivalent).

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' software development experience.
• Experience developing enterprise applications using Java technologies.
• Exposure to financial services or insurance environments will be advantageous.
• Experience working within Agile and SDLC environments.

Technical Skills:

• Java Programming Language.
• Java EE.
• JBoss EAP or similar application servers.
• JPA and ORM frameworks.
• XML, XSD, JAXB.
• Relational databases and PL/SQL.
• EJB.
• JavaServer Faces (JSF).
