Job summary

Geotech is seeking a seasoned IT Technician to take ownership of complex, escalated challenges across networks, servers and end-user environments. The role requires hands-on experience and collaborative problem-solving to resolve issues permanently.

The successful candidate will train users, manage mail infrastructure, secure networks with Fortinet and Mikrotik, deploy Windows Server ecosystems, and contribute to automation and documentation to improve IT operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive IT experience across networks, servers and end-user environments.
• Ability to resolve escalated issues using root-cause analysis.
• Proven track record of configuring LAN/WAN and security devices.

Responsibilities

• Train and support users on IT systems.
• Maintain mail infrastructure and DNS/SMTP issues.
• Configure and administer Fortinet firewall estates and VPNs.
• Manage Mikrotik routing and inter-site connectivity.
• Deploy and troubleshoot wireless networks.
• Provide advanced desktop/server support and SLA-compliant resolutions.
• Create technical documentation and runbooks.
• Identify and implement automation to reduce manual workload.
• Configure IP cameras/CCTV networks and integrate with IT systems.
• Perform daily ops checklists and report status to IT Manager.
• Monitor capacity and performance of devices and inter-branch links.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
• Travel to sites for installations and maintenance as required.
• Configure Windows Server environments (2016–2025) and AD/GP.
