About the Role

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Project Manager with a strong background in cybersecurity to join their team in Pretoria. This crucial role involves managing complex IT projects focused on enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture, implementing new security technologies, and ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies, coupled with proven project management expertise. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of internal team members and third-party vendors or consultants. The Senior IT Project Manager will also define project objectives and deliverables, ensuring they support the business goals of the organization within Gauteng. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can effectively lead security-focused initiatives in Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of cybersecurity and IT infrastructure projects.
• Develop project scopes, goals, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate and lead project teams, including IT security specialists, network engineers, and external vendors.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, meeting high-quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years specifically focused on cybersecurity projects.
• Proven experience managing projects related to network security, data protection, cloud security, or incident response.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow).
• Experience working within the financial services sector is an advantage.
