Placements24 is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with a strong cybersecurity background to join a leading financial institution in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will plan, execute, and close cybersecurity-focused IT projects, coordinating internal teams and external vendors to strengthen the organization's security posture.

The role requires 7+ years in IT project management, with 3+ years in cybersecurity, plus experience in network security and data protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in IT project management, with at least 3 years in cybersecurity projects.
• Experience with network security, data protection, cloud security, or incident response.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end cybersecurity and IT infrastructure projects.
• Define scope, goals, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Lead project teams including IT security specialists and external vendors.
• Ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Communicate progress to stakeholders and senior management.
• Manage project changes to achieve required outputs.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations (POPIA, GDPR).
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and reporting sessions.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned.
