Placements24 is seeking a Senior Crop Protection Specialist for a leading agricultural inputs provider in Benoni, Gauteng. You will advise farmers on integrated pest management strategies to protect crops through pest, disease and weed control, blending science with practical field work.

This hybrid role combines remote strategic planning with on-site client consultations and farm visits across Gauteng, requiring strong communication, travelling within the region, and a commitment to sustainable

Formación

• Master's or PhD in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, or related agricultural science.
• Minimum 6 years of crop protection or IPM experience in agriculture.
• In-depth knowledge of pests, diseases, weeds affecting SA crops.
• Proven IPM strategy development and implementation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and ability to engage farmers.
• Hybrid work readiness and willingness to travel within Gauteng.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement comprehensive crop protection strategies, including IPM plans for a wide range of crops.
• Provide expert technical advice on pest, disease, and weed management to farmers.
• Conduct field assessments to diagnose crop health issues and propose solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new crop protection products and technologies based on efficacy and safety.
• Stay updated with research, regulations, and best practices in crop protection.
• Train farmers and sales staff on crop protection techniques and product usage.
• Collaborate with R&D to test and validate new products.
• Maintain detailed records of field observations and product performance.
• Contribute to technical marketing materials and farmer outreach.
• Ensure compliance with regulations on crop protection chemicals.
