Job summary

andBeyond seeks an Internal Design Lead to shape the physical expression of its lodges, camps and yachts. You will lead the design direction, work with external designers and lodge teams, and translate destination stories into memorable spaces that balance beauty, comfort and place.

This permanent Johannesburg-based role requires strong storytelling, collaboration and hands-on oversight from concept through installation, with regular travel to remote properties to ensure quality and longevity of

Qualifications

At least 5 years of interior design experience in luxury hospitality.
Portfolio showing concept development and completed installations.
Ability to coordinate designers, architects, contractors and suppliers.
Experience delivering work in remote international environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design direction for lodges, camps and yachts, ensuring strong sense of place.
Source and manage relationships with external designers and architects.
Translate landscape, culture and destination stories into clear design briefs.
Guide mood boards, layouts, materials palettes, and furnishings from concept to approval.
Oversee on-site installation, snagging and final styling, ensuring timely opening readiness.
Maintain design guidelines and brand standards across properties.
