Job summary

FSCA is seeking an experienced subject-matter expert to oversee compliance with long-term, short-term, and other financial sector legislation. You will supervise a portfolio of insurers, conduct risk-based onsite inspections, report findings, and provide strategic technical guidance to the department.

Ideal candidates hold a Law or Insurance Risk Management degree with 5+ years in compliance or risk roles; compliance/risk certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law or Insurance Risk Management with relevant insurance industry knowledge.
• At least 5 years’ experience in an insurance technical, compliance or risk management role.
• Certification in Compliance or Risk Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with insurance legislation to protect policyholders and supervise a portfolio of entities.
• Coordinate, plan and conduct thematic, risk-based on-site inspections and engage with supervised entities.
• Report findings and recommend corrective actions where feasible.
• Provide specialist technical advice within the department and externally.
• Collaborate with other departments across the organisation and ensure adherence to policies.
• Manage and coordinate technical projects and provide strategic support for supervision frameworks.
