Exxaro Resources is seeking an experienced Master Instrument Mechanician to join our team at Grootegeluk Coal in Lephalale, Limpopo. The role focuses on expert maintenance and fault diagnosis of instrumentation equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency while supporting knowledge transfer and cost control.

You will lead on‑the‑job training, collaborate with project teams, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative standards in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Standard 10 English (Essential/Minimum).
• N3 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum).
• Trade: Instrumentation Mechanician MQ A/Q (Essential/Minimum).
• Computer literacy with applicable software (Essential/Minimum).
• Certificate: Basic Management Program (Essential/Minimum).
• N4 Technical or Instrumentation Mechanician/Instrumentation (Desirable).
• Minimum 3 years technical maintenance experience in heavy industry/mining.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and ensure optimal operation of equipment.
• Diagnose faults using advanced tech and apply corrective measures.
• Facilitate on‑the‑job training and mentoring for artisans.
• Collaborate with foremen to coordinate maintenance efforts.
• Manage maintenance costs and optimize resources within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Provide technical support including calibration and documentation interpretation.
• Participate in project planning to align with company goals.
• Inspect tools and equipment for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Pursue personal and professional development to stay updated.
