The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in information security with leadership experience, CISSP/CISM/CISA, and strong knowledge of ISO 27001/NIST CSF. You will mentor staff and report to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Cybersecurity.
• 7+ years in information security with at least 3 years in a management role.
• CISSP, CISM or CISA certifications are required.
• Experience with ISO 27001 and NIST CSF frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the information security strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Ensure regulatory and standards compliance (e.g., POPIA).
• Lead and mentor the information security team in a hybrid environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage security technologies, controls, and audits.
• Deliver security awareness training for all staff.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Information Security Manager to lead their security team in Centurion, Gauteng . This role involves a hybrid work model, requiring a balance of remote work and on-site presence. You will be responsible for developing and executing the information security strategy, managing security risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive experience in managing security operations, incident response, and security awareness programs. This position is pivotal in safeguarding our client's information assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall information security strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations (e.g., POPIA), and best practices.
• Manage and mentor the information security team, fostering a culture of security excellence.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and controls.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Manage relationships with external security vendors and auditors.
• Prepare and present security reports to senior management and the board.
• Lead security investigations and ensure timely resolution of security incidents.

Requirements
