About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Supply Chain Optimization to join their strategic operations team in Randburg, Gauteng. This vital role will focus on analyzing, redesigning, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our client's end-to-end supply chain processes. You will leverage advanced industrial engineering techniques, data analytics, and optimization models to drive significant improvements in areas such as inventory management, logistics, network design, and demand forecasting. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely while also requiring collaborative on-site engagement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in supply chain improvement and a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles. You will have the opportunity to shape and implement supply chain strategies that enhance competitiveness and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the entire supply chain network, including procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution, to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory management, reduce lead times, and minimize carrying costs.
• Design and optimize logistics and transportation networks to enhance delivery speed and reduce costs.
• Utilize data analytics and simulation tools to model supply chain scenarios and evaluate the impact of proposed changes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, procurement, sales) and external partners (suppliers, logistics providers) to align supply chain strategies.
• Develop and implement robust demand forecasting and planning processes.
• Lead projects focused on improving warehouse operations, including layout, material handling, and labor productivity.
• Ensure supply chain operations comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Stay current with best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends in supply chain management and industrial engineering.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering with a significant focus on supply chain optimization.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies applied to supply chains.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in supply chain modeling, simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Llamasoft), and data visualization tools.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain planning software.
• Excellent understanding of inventory management principles, logistics, and network design.
• Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
