Placements24 is seeking a Process Optimization Engineer for a fully remote position based in Cape Town. You will analyze and design improvements to manufacturing processes to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency while coordinating with a virtual team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, at least 4 years of hands-on process improvement experience, and proficiency with Lean Six Sigma, plus process modeling tools like Visio or Simul8.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in process improvement, operations analysis, or industrial engineering roles.
• Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
• Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software (e.g., Visio, Simul8).
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis, workflow mapping, and on-site (virtual observation) assessments.
• Develop and implement standardized procedures and best practices for production and operational activities.
• Utilize simulation and modeling techniques to test and validate proposed process changes before full-scale implementation.
• Measure and report on the performance of implemented changes, ensuring they meet targeted efficiency and cost-saving goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new processes into existing operational frameworks and provide necessary training virtually.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in industrial engineering and process optimization.
