Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer in Randburg to drive automation and process innovation across manufacturing operations. You will identify opportunities, lead automation design and implementation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and product quality.
The role requires a strong background in industrial engineering, lean practices, and proven automation project leadership.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong automation focus.
- Proven track record leading automation projects in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate automation opportunities to drive process innovation.
- Lead design, development and implementation of automated systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering and operations to integrate new tech.
- Develop and manage timelines, budgets and resources for automation.
- Ensure automation systems are efficient, safe, reliable, and maintainable.
- Stay updated on automation, robotics, and manufacturing tech trends.
- Develop and implement SOPs for new automated processes.
- Train and mentor staff on operation and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems.
