Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on automation to join our Randburg team on-site. You will design, implement, and optimize automated systems to boost production efficiency, quality, and safety, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams across all project stages.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, feasibility studies, and documentation to support scalable automation initiatives within a manufacturing setting in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial engineering with automation specialization.
• Proven design, implementation and troubleshooting of automated systems.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (Siemens/Allen-Bradley) and robotics integration.
• Knowledge of SCADA, HMI, and industrial network protocols.
• Lean manufacturing principles applied to automated environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems for manufacturing processes.
• Analyze processes to identify automation opportunities and efficiency gains.
• Select automation hardware/software including PLCs, robotics, and control systems.
• Develop control logic and programming for automated machinery.
