Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer in Sandton to lead procurement for industrial supplies and safeguard uninterrupted production. You will manage key supplier relationships, negotiate large contracts, and drive cost optimization in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

The role requires 6+ years in industrial purchasing, with at least 2 in a senior capacity, and a strong track record in negotiation, contract management and supplier management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive industrial purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
• Proven track record in negotiation and contract management with major suppliers.
• Deep understanding of industrial commodities, manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for industrial supplies focusing on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Lead negotiations with national and international suppliers for large volume contracts.
• Manage a portfolio of key suppliers and foster strategic partnerships.
• Analyze market trends, commodity pricing and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on technical requirements.
• Oversee procurement from requisition to delivery ensuring efficiency and compliance.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and process improvements in procurement.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive supplier management and contingency planning.
• Mentor junior members of the purchasing team.
