Job summary

Level Up - Your Talent Partner in Durban seeks a Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to lead design, development, and delivery of complex automation projects, including PLC/DCS, SCADA, and field instrumentation.

You will mentor engineers, govern software changes, support presales, and drive strategic initiatives while ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience with Siemens PCS 7 / TIA Portal and multi-sector exposure.

Qualifications

• B.Eng/BTech in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering and valid professional registration or eligibility.
• Siemens TIA Portal and PCS 7 certification preferred.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS architecture and FAT/SAT activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design for automation projects (PLC/DCS, SCADA, field instrumentation).
• Oversee integration, commissioning, testing, and handover to clients.
• Mentor engineers and govern software changes (MOC).
• Support presales with technical scoping and estimation.
