Placements24 is assisting a world-renowned research institute in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, to recruit a Senior Research Fellow in Immunology. You will lead independent projects, contribute to grant writing, mentor postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, and publish high-impact findings in leading journals.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Immunology or a related field, 5–7 years of postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record, and proven success in obtaining funding.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology or related field required.
• 5–7 years postdoctoral research experience with independent and publication record.
• Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding.
• Expertise in immunological techniques (flow cytometry, ELISpot, western blotting).
• Strong conceptual, design and execution abilities for complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct complex immunology experiments.
• Lead independent research projects and secure external funding.
• Publish findings in high-impact journals.
• Mentor postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
• Present research at national/international conferences.
• Collaborate with internal and external investigators to advance projects.
• Maintain rigorous lab records and compliance with ethics and safety.
