Placements24 is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join our Immunology group in Sandton, South Africa. You will lead critical research projects advancing understanding of immune mechanisms and developing potential immunotherapies in a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Immunology or related field with at least 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience and proven leadership in immunology research and data analysis.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years postdoctoral or industry experience in immunology research.
• Hands-on experience with immunological techniques.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation of complex datasets.
• Proven ability to lead research projects and manage laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects focused on understanding immune mechanisms in health and disease.
• Design, perform, and interpret immunological assays including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and cytokine analysis.
• Develop and validate novel experimental models and techniques to investigate immune responses.
• Mentor junior scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative research environment.
• Analyze and present research findings at internal meetings and external conferences.
• Contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation for publication in high-impact journals.
